Pushing the limit
This week I will be “pushing the limit”, after gradually working myself up to the dosage of meds the doctors want me to take. While I’ve posed the question,”What are the side effects?” and “long term side effects of taking this medication?”…. the docs say there are “no long term side effects”.
Even with my limited medical background, I believe taking a medication for the rest of my life must have some “long term” side effects. I’d rather hear… “we don’t really know that, seeing as though this course of oral treatment has only been around since the 1980’s”. As far as “short term” side effects, or “reactions” to the medication… I’ve learned more from what I’ve read on the internet; shortness of breath, stuffy nose, dizziness, etc. All of which I’ve had, but can reduce by gradually working up to the dosage.
Around Christmas I will go in to have my veins tapped again, to see where I stand. Good or bad, I will still be standing.
I do think these guys (doctors, nurses, pharmacists) would be a little more on top of the meds they prescribed, if they actually had to test them out themselves.
Smile
