laughter is great medicine
On the summer of my 42nd birthday, I was reminded by a dear friend (with an email I just received) about a simpler time….
being a member of the 20 something club…
when a woman of strength was being able to lift iron with the fellas…
riding mountain bikes before we knew helmets could save lives…
when our biggest worry was if we would have enough money for a six pack of beer for the weekend…
counting our change for some fine dining at Taco Bell…
how to pretend not being home when when those ever pesky Jehovah’s Witnesses come to visit. (What is it about those people that think it’s ok to just stop by… unannounced. My own mother would know better to stop by without calling first).
And how about a good belly laugh, eh? Can you remember the last time you laughed so hard you cried?? If you can’t remember…. than it’s been to damn long.
My friend, who lives by a beautiful ocean, reminded me that everything happens for a reason. In time maybe I’ll know why this is all happening to me. But in the meantime I’ve had a good belly laugh this afternoon. Good for the body, great for the soul.
