Lab Work
My 3 month lab work to make sure everything is working (ALL pituitary functions) came back GREAT! My prolactin level is right where it should be. (Tumor isn’t growing back). Now if I can get through Wednesday’s surgery, things should start looking up.
The surgeon will be removing everything…. ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus and cervix. I”m not too excited about having to take hormone replacement, but it will be nice not to be in pain all the time. Due to the size of the mass on the ovaries, laproscopic surgery is not an option for me. Unfortunately it will be the “gut like a fish” version.
For my pre-opp appointment, they said to bring a list of any questions or concerns.
I did.
4 pages of computer generated issues, concerns and questions. The usual 10 min. appointment (allotted for me), turned into 40 min. Yep, she’s going to have to earn her money with me. After my questions and concerns, I basically interviewed her. Of course I’d pulled up her bio on the web, I know she’s a qualified surgeon. But I wanted her to know, I’ve done my homework. And tho’ it’s just another day at the office for her…. like my brain surgery, this will be my first hysterectomy.
A good friend sent the following to me earlier today. You’ve probably seen it before….
“Tequila and Salt
This should probably be taped to your bathroom mirror where one could read
it every day. You may not realize it, but it’s 100% true.
1. There are at least two people in this world that you would die for.
2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.
3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be
just like you.
4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don’t like
you.
5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.
6. You mean the world to someone.
7. You are special and unique.
8. Someone that you don’t even know exists loves you.
9. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it.
10. When you think the world has turned its back on you take another look.
11. Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the rude
remarks.
And always remember….when life hands you lemons, ask for tequila and
salt and call me”
I knew that bottle of Patron would come in handy!
SMILE
