at least I don’t have breast cancer
With all of the daily routine of work, taking my meds for the brain tumor, I still try and maintain my health any way I can. You know what I mean? A yearly physical, teeth cleaning, eating right, working out when I can, etc.
So last week I had my yearly mammography screening. And yes I received that “form” letter the imaging center sends out when everything is ok. With the year that I’ve had, the words “the examination did not show any sign of cancer” was like receiving a gold nugget. I later laughed out loud at myself for being so excited about it.
Funny how once certain things in my life were only recognized as small pleasures (if recognized at all)…. have now become golden nuggets, or blessings really.
Hearing the sound of my nephew’s voice saying, “I love you Happy” (that’s my nick name to them)…. monumental blessing!
The sweet aroma of Russian Olive trees, that can only be smelled on a hot summer day…… monumental blessing!
The statuesque bald eagle that sits in the cotton wood tree below our house…. monumental blessing!
The strength of my husband’s arms holding me up, when I have no strength of my own… monumental blessing!
And do you know there are colors in a sunrise, they don’t even have names for?….. monumental blessing!
